Monitoring marine turtles allow us to learn more about their populations over time, their health, their behavior and much more.
It involves capturing individuals to gather a series of measurements, assigning each turtle a name, and providing them with a unique identification.
All the information is collected in a regional database that is later analyzed by scientists to generate knowledge that is used to make informed decisions to improve the conservation of this species and habitats.
Duration: 2 hours of activity starting from the capture of the sea turtles.
Cost:
Includes: Participation in the activity. Transportation to the monitoring site is not included.
Schedule: Each monitoring session is planned at different times due to environmental factors such as the tide level.
Age: There are no age limits for participation.
Location: El Cardón, Laguna San Ignacio, Baja California Sur, México.
